Slow Food in the Oakland and Alameda Areas
Since 1990, Chef Rudy has been a
member of the original Italian division of Slow Food, and he joined the Alameda convivium
when it was formed in 2008. Slow Food is a global
grassroots effort linking local ingredients, authentic preparation
and community involvement to the joy of food and the environment.
With community truly at the heart of our culinary philosophy,
C’era Una Volta invites everyone from Oakland,
Alameda, San Francisco and beyond to join us for

Authentic Italian Restaurant
Every year since C’era Una
Volta opened in 2004, we have been recognized by the Accademia
Italiana della Cucina, an official organization of the Italian
government, as an authentic Italian restaurant.
Chef Rudy uses techniques he learned as a child in his
grandmother’s Elba Island kitchen and later perfected as a
student of the culinary arts in Italy. He combines authentic
flavors and techniques of Italian cooking to create a true culinary
experience with every dish.
Come find us right off Park Street, in quiet Redwood Square, for Lunch, Dinner or Sunday Brunch.
